Crochet Corner: Ice Cream Pillow

Several months and hundreds of yards of yarn later, my biggest crochet project to date is finally finished; an ice cream cone pillow. I couldn’t resist making this kooky and sweet design when I came across it on Twinkie Chan’s blog. I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn and filled it with ultra plush stuffing. I also decorated it with single stitch rainbow sprinkles and a cherry on top.

Crochet Corner: Star Gloves

These multi-colored arm warmers are so much fun to wear! Shooting Star Fingerless Gloves I like to call them. Armed with cotton candy swirl yarn (and my bamboo, size I hook), I was determined to make my first pair of gloves. To top them off, I sewed on silver star buttons that line the outside of the arm.

Winter Wonderland

With the cold wave continuing to sweep across Pennsylvania, days for a photo shoot have been practically null. I finally got an opportunity for one yesterday while my parents and I are on a mini-vacation at my grandparent’s log cabin. The only problem was…it was less than 15 degrees outside! With it being so cold, me and my mom (the photographer) continuously would snap a few pictures and then run back inside to warm up before heading out again. Not exactly the finest day to stand still and pose, but a good result came of it.

Only one word came to my mind when deciding what to wear: layers! I pulled on a white sweater over my black long sleeve shirt to provide extra insulation. To keep my feet toasty, I tucked a pair of long socks underneath my leggings. My plaid holiday skirt gave this look a splash of print. The ankle boots are a recent purchase from CL by Chinese Laundry. To top it all off, I layered on a thick, black overcoat and a crochet cupcake scarf I made (pattern by Twinkie Chan).

Crochet Corner: Coin Purses

Making fun and useful coin purses has been my new crafting addiction! The first purse pictured was modeled in my Pandas in the Rain post and inspired by fairy kei. I love how this pattern left me with the freedom to decorate them as I pleased.

Crochet Corner: New Segment

Hello readers! I’ve taken a long hiatus since my last post, but for good reason! I’ve decided to create a special new segment on this blog called Crochet Corner! Crochet Corner will be a post series that highlights all of the things I love to crochet. In each of these posts I’ll also provide the pattern I’ve used or created.

Happy crocheting everyone!

XOXO ~Arianna

Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

“Columcille Megalith Park, Land of Myth and Mystery” the sign said at the shoot location. It was a happy coincidence to see that slogan considering my T-shirt choice!

My comical little red riding hood tee, Old Navy purple shorts and converse sneakers made walking the humid trail comfortable. The crossbody Kate Spade bag can be seen in my previous post “Like a Flower, Spring Fashion Blooms”. The crochet bracelets were made by me. They’ll be featured along with other crochet accessories in my new, upcoming post segment.

Pandas in the Rain

Who says that rain boots have to be grey and boring? Yes, durable and stylish pairs do exist! I found this pair adorned with my favorite animal, the panda, on Amazon.

The matching crochet panda beanie and kawaii coin purse were made by me. I’m looking into starting a new string of posts where I can feature my creations. There’s definitely more to come!

With my super cute accessories, I wore a vintage “Little Miss Sunshine” tee and American Apparel baby pink shorts.
